SCAM
How it works
- A 'buyer' sends a collect request or a QR code and says it's a payment to you.
- You enter your PIN to 'receive' it.
- The money leaves your account instead.
Red flags
- Any request to enter a PIN, scan a QR or share an OTP to receive money
- A rushed buyer, often claiming to be in the army
- A screenshot saying money was 'sent by mistake'
Stay safe
- Check your balance in your own bank app, not on a screenshot
- Decline collect requests you don't recognise
- Never scan a QR code someone sends you to 'receive' money

Questions
Do I need a UPI PIN to receive money?
No. The UPI PIN is only for payments. Money you receive arrives without any PIN.
Someone says they sent money by mistake. What should I do?
Check your bank app. If the money really arrived, ask your bank to handle the reversal. Never send it to a number the stranger gives you.
