How it works
- A message says a parcel is stuck, a refund is due or points are expiring.
- The link opens a convincing copy of a real site.
- A small 'fee' or a refund form captures your card, CVV and OTP.
Red flags
- Endings like .top, .site, .co or .xyz, or extra words in the name
- A small fee, or a big refund, that needs card details
- Deadlines like 'within 12 hours'
Stay safe
- Open the official app or type the website yourself
- Refunds never need your CVV or OTP
- Income tax work happens only on incometax.gov.in
Already happened? Act fast
- Call 1930National Cyber Crime Helpline. The sooner you call, the better the chance of stopping the money.

Read the domain slowly. Extra words, misspellings or unusual endings mean it's fake. When in doubt, don't tap.
